The Karroo Hotel is a prominent landmark 2 kms outside the town of Steytlerville on the Baviaans Route R329 between Willowmore and Wolvefontein.
It is 175 kms from Port Elizabeth. It is also the halfway mark between the Addo National Elephant Park and Oudtshoorn.
The Hotel is an architectural gem built in 1943 and has been painstakingly restored to it's former elegance and standards of comfort.
The property is 8.5 hectares on a hillside offering commanding views of the Cockscomb, Baviaanskloof and Winterhoek mountains and the nearby village.
During the day guests can enjoy a stroll down to one of the dams where there is an abundance of birdlife and a small variety of game, enjoy the cool waters of our pool, play putt putt or simply relax on the "stoep".
There is also a fully equipped gym as well as a jacuzzi and sauna for the use of its guests.
On special evenings, if you are lucky, after a fine dinner, hotel owner and former German supper-club pianist extraordinaire Mark Hinds and his partner Jacques Rabie will entertain you with sophisticated supper-club cabaret.
In the bar is a championship sized snooker table.
The neighbouring property is unique in that it contains all three bio-spheres and incorporates a Karoo Golf Course. (Sand Greens)
